Obviously you and maybe your business partner/s need more survey in F&B industry. It is very easy to dump in all your $$$ to invest in any businesses which is most people failed at the end. But when it comes to manage wise, it needs a lot of experiences + minds to achive it beside the good name for your cafe. For my point of view, you should be looking for F&B consultant or someone that already in the line for long.

You should plan the forecast of your cafe, template of your cafe, who is going to manage the cafe for you, how to upsell your product or USP and etc. Basically you're thinking of "mostly HOT CHOCOLATE", if HOT CHOCOLATE is your MAIN PRODUCT, you should do CHOCOLATE GOURMET to make it interesting though. Nowadays, customer "GO" varieties instead! I do not know how is your planning and setting so far, that's just a thought of my mind.

All the best for your opening!

this is a problem !!! why should people come to YOUR cafe ? what are you offering that your competition is not ? do you specialize in a certain kind of food or dish ? marketing is key to a business, especially a new one ! if no food terms apply, think of something that appeals to YOU such as a pet's name or a catchy phrase, "Pizzaz" or the "Happy Chef" or the Meeting Place. If you are new to the business, good luck, 90% of all restaurants fail within the 1st year.

Call it Lady Godiva's and use Godiva chocolate to make your hot chocolates. Use Godiva flavored syrups in your coffees. Buy the Godiva chocolates and biscuits wholesale and sell them retail on a rack in your cafe. Make cookies and brownies with Godiva chocolate and sell them alongside too.

Run a contest at a local art school or ask a local graphic arts instructor to have his students to design a logo for you. Pay $100 to the winning design and tell them you want a Lady Godiva logo that would be suitable for a cafe... you could have the nearly naked beauty astride her horse, clothed only in her hair, sipping a cup of steaming beverage...

Every woman in town will beat a path to your door because of your product...

Every man in town will beat a path to your door because of your logo....

Good business :)

Name it something like "I Ain't Here" and you can have a catch phrase like "when people ask where you are, tell them I Ain't Here". T-shirts are a great marketing tool (like Joe's Crab Shack). Stand out and be noticed. Above all, good food with great prices. I love when places have the prices as $2 or $8 or whatever without cents, and with tax included. That makes life so easy!!!! Good luck.

It sounds like you should not waste your money. Invest in stocks or something. You does not sound like you have a good business plan!
