Yes,I do.At least 10%,if the service is fine.I always leave a personal tip if the server has done an exceptional job.But tipping isn't mandatory,at least for me,if the service is pathetic,I wouldn't leave anything.

For wait service, 15% if the service was standard. Up to 20% or so if the service was excellent. For substandard service, 10%. Less if the server was really awful.

For taxi drivers, in NYC, my rule is (for standard service) add 10% rounded up. That means, if the fare was 8.34, I would give 10. For 3.87, I would give 5. I hate giving a tip where change is required, but I might well give 50 cents.

For barbers, I give 20 to 25% if I'm very satisfied. So if the price is 16, I might give 20 (that's about the most I would give).

I remember when flight attendants would take tips - this seems to have stopped around 15 years ago or so. The last time I tried to tip a flight attendant, he seemed kind of angry.

For restaurants I always tip at least 15%. I usually tip 20% if the service was excellent.

I don't know if people know but most servers only make $2.15 an hour and we live off of our tips, yes if the server is horrible then tip accordingly, but please be considerate, if the food comes out bad usually not a servers fault so don't take it out of their tips. 15%-20% is the going rate also realize that some places make their servers tipout some of their tips at the end of the night, so keep that in mind also. Thank you and be nice to your servers.

yes. typical is 10-20%.

It all depends on the service.

In the US, you also have to tip the following people:

barbers, cab drivers, baggage handlers, delivery, valet, etc.

Typically it safer to assume, that you can tip. And tipping usually provides better service.

Coffee, one dollar per drink.

Haircut - $5.00

Server, 2$ min - %20. Depending, on the service.

15-20% unless they are really good or bad. I've left everything from $0.01 to 100% of the bill.

Depends at what places. How much also depends on the person
